Mother Knows Best

College finals.
That time when you try to cram an entire semester worth of work into your brain the night before.
I mean you would think I would learn from previous tests that cramming just leads to stress and sleepless nights...Nope I subconsciously refuse to learn from my mistakes and resort back the the old habits.
So, my first final of my college career was 8:00 this morning. Luckily it was in French and seeing as how it is my major of choice my outlook on finals was in a positive manner.
Yes I did well. Exceptionally. But that's not the point.
I mean mothers can say study a little bit every night and you will be fine but why is it that we never learn that mothers are ALWAYS right. And I mean that. ALWAYS
I probably first started realizing this my freshman year in high school when she told me to wear tennis shoes to a football game and I refused to listen and wore flip flops--my toes hurt just thinking about that night.
The next time it really occurred to me that my mother was on to something was during the spring snow season in Colorado. We were taking a field trip to Denver and my mother said to wear boots. Nope canvas shoes it was going to be Mom. Toes frozen to the bone? Check! Shoes shrinking on my feet? Check! Going to admit this to Mom? No Way! that would be suicidal.
So I came to accept the fact that my mother was right.
Let me tell you that my life got considerably easier after that moment.
So as much as you don't want to hear this or maybe you just don't want to admit it, suck it up and tell your mother thank you for always having your back. Tell her thank you for that no so attractive coat that kept you extremely warm while skiing. Tell her thank you for letting you know that she didn't like your boyfriend and that there were better guys out there.
It doesn't matter what the situation is just Tell Her Thank You.
Mothers are under appreciated I feel like. I know I don't give my mom enough credit for the things she does. But you never know how much it will mean to her if you just say two simple words for the years she has invested in you.
